    Description

Various nice Cab of different colors of green and blue.  I fact it has been impossible for me to get the exact colors of the stone in the photos.  The blues are a little bit bluer and the greens a little bit lighter.  But I think everyone can get a close idea.
Turquoise has been mined from a dried up lake bed in Lander County Nevada for many years and has been called by different names. The most prevalent name now is Carico and has been recently mined in small amounts by new owners.  The Cabochons I advertise were purchased from the J.W. Edgar family after the original owner, believed to be Gus Stenich, willed it to them allegedly on a bread wrapper.   Apparently he was tired of thieves coming on to his property and stealing his turquoise.  The Cabs I offer were all cut and polished in the 1970's
The mine produces varying colors from light green and blue to various darker shades of green.  The Cabs are highly praised and can be very expensive.  Since I am selling out of my old collection I can sell at lower prices than most that is advertised.  So, take advantage of these prices as I offer them to the public.
This Cab were cut and polished in the mid 1970's and has a high polish. It is backed with Devcon.
This natural stone was mined in the early 1970's at the Blue Nugget Mine that was located 2 miles N by NW of Tenabo, NV up Indian Creek. The mine was operated for one season by a group out of Denver of which I was a part.  Most of the production was sold to the retail public and no other quanity exists of which I am aware.  The small production was mined out that season. This stone was cut and polish by professionals.
It is a high quality piece with devcon backing and is a true gem stone.  Colors from the mine ranged from light green to blue green to blue and most had a gold matrix.  The deposit was mined briefly in a prior period and is mentioned in the 1974 6th addition of Pogue "Turquoise" .  These are truly rare Cabs. I will be offering a few from time to time as I only have a few left.  I have sold these cabs as high as .00 per carat, but am offering them at a bargain price so someone can enjoy the beauty of these gem stones.
